Update regarding the crowdfunding campaign 2024

We conducted a crowdfunding campaign through June to August 2024, to raise funds to assist with promotion, legal costs and security for the bells and the site while we sought recognition for this amazing discovery for Scotland.  Regrettably, it failed to generate sufficient support.  It perhaps failed for several reasons.

  • We did not have the initial social reach already in place, to generate sufficient interest.

  • We lacked the funds or supporters to promote the campaign.

  • Our Facebook campaign targeting those groups with a special interest in medieval, bell, Templar and European and Scottish history, failed to attract significant engagement.

  • The local community demonstrated indifference to the plight of their local heritage, so failed to offer meaningful support or promotion.

  • Active Templar and Scottish heritage associations failed to respond dynamically to our pleas for help.

However, the campaign did offer opportunity to debate with effusive social media commentators and contributors over the authenticity of the discovery. In every case, any discord was ably countered with evidence and fact, and thus the discovery remains uncontested.
